Psalms Chapter 37
Two Lifestyles
This chapter speaks of two lifestyles: the wicked and the righteous. The wicked will perish and the righteous will inherit God’s land forever.
The wicked are those who practice evil, steal, kill, and more. The outcome states the wicked will wither away, perish, be destroyed, have no future. These are the same types of people who reject the truth of Christ for forgiveness of sin and for the salvation of their soul. Without Christ one perishes forever and ever in a lake of fire called hell. So why do we become envious of those living in sin? Their life on Earth may look good, happy, and fun, but their outcome is eternity in hell.
For the righteous, however, it states they are those who put their hope and trust in the Lord, they commit their way to the Lord, they wait patiently for the Lord, they delight in the Lord, they give generously, are blameless, they love God’s word and keep it in their hearts and they obey it. This is a perfect picture of those who love the Lord Jesus and have surrendered their lives to him. It states their outcome is spending eternity with the Lord God.
Are you walking in faith with Jesus? Are you invested in his word so you can produce fruit for the kingdom of God? Or are you caught up or even trapped in the pleasures of this world? Let today be the day you surrender your life to Christ and ask him to come in and empower you with the Holy Spirit, and transform your life so you look more and more like Jesus and less and less like the world.
