Psalms Chapter 3
Dwell On Defeat Or Dwell On Victory.
David’s son Absalom deceived many people to turn their loyalty away from David. As a result many people rose up against David and Psalms 3 is David crying out to God. He declares that there are many against him but he speaks words of Hope and Victory saying:
– God is a shield around me.
– You lift my head up.
– You sustain me.
– I will not fear the tens of thousands against me.
– From the Lord comes deliverance.
Have you ever gotten in a situation that you felt attacked or overwhelmed by? You felt so many people or so many circumstances were against you. You felt the situation was hopeless.
Good news: there’s Hope in the Lord! You have two choices: Dwell On Defeat Or Dwell On Victory.
1. DEFEAT. You can dwell on how bad you got it and how there’s no hope. Day after day you can tell all those around you all your terrible circumstances and live in defeat.
2. VICTORY. You can do as David did and declare a coming victory. He spoke words of Hope and not defeat. He dwelled on and believed God can sustain him and deliver him. Speak it and keep speaking it until you begin to believe it.
Which are you dwelling on for your circumstances: Defeat or Victory?
