Psalms Chapter 27
What’s The Problem?
The psalmist says the Lord is truly his light, meaning the Lord keeps him out of darkness. Plus the Lord is the stronghold of his life. As a result, he has nothing to fear. Even if the whole army attacks, he says he will not fear, but will put his confidence in the Lord.
When I feel attacked and surrounded by so much pressure, may I learn to trust God and find my confidence in him that he’ll take care of everything.
The psalmist’s greatest desire was to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, for it is there he finds safety and shelter from the storms of life. So instead of worrying and living in fear, he’s able to shout to the Lord with joy and in singing. May I do the same when I feel overwhelmed. It’s then I should pursue God and shout for joy to him versus worrying and being afraid.
While being attacked, the psalmist says, I will see God’s goodness and I’ll wait for the Lord. I’ll be patient. Perhaps we all can learn this concept of seeking the Lord and waiting upon him for his timing and not ours. God wants to be a part of all of our lives no matter what problems we face.
