Psalms Chapter 22
Does This Sound Familiar?
This chapter is a very prophetic and is a popular passage that describes the life of Jesus while being persecuted and facing his death at the cross. This passage speaks of a man:
1. Who said the words, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
2. Who was despised by man.
3. Who was mocked and had insults hurled at him.
4. Whose mouth was dry and thirsty.
5. Whose clothes were divided up and cast lots for.
6. Who would be declared to All Nations including future generations.
7. Who would have people declare his righteousness.
All these things mentioned have been fulfilled by Jesus. He did all this for the forgiveness of our sins and it says that even in his darkest moment he trusted the Lord. Can that be said of us?
Have you given up your life to the Lord for the forgiveness of your sins? Do you trust him even in your darkest moments? Do you declare his righteousness to others as the only hope for one’s life? The only hope of obtaining an awesome heaven?
We may not get everything we want on Earth, but what we don’t get will seem pretty minute when we enter into the gates of heaven. Things we worry about on Earth will seem pretty small compared to the surpassing greatness of Heaven. I pray that’s your destination!
