Psalms Chapter 19
Learn From These Four Things.
Four things in this chapter spoke to me. Hopefully it will speak to you as well.
1. It says all of creation, without saying a word, declares that there is a God, a Creator. Do you believe this?
2. God’s Word overpowers any words we could ever speak for it says God’s words are: perfect, refreshing, righteous, truth, gives joy, gives light, is more precious and pure than gold, is sweeter than honey, and gives warnings. Have you made God’s Word a priority in your life?
3. The psalmist asks the Lord to keep him from willful sins. He doesn’t want anything controlling him. What’s something that seems to control you? Don’t ever think your problem is too powerful for God and His Holy Spirit. Don’t be afraid to have an accountability partner.
4. Lastly, it says may the words I speak and the things I think about be pleasing in your sight, oh God. Perhaps I could boast that the words I speak are most often favorable to God, but sadly, the things I think about are not so pleasing. God forgive me!
