Psalms Chapter 147
My God is Bigger Than Your god.
The psalmist points out, God created the stars and knows all of them by name. He forms the clouds and causes them to bring rain. He forms the snow, frost, and hail. Then sends his word to melt them. He speaks and the Grass grows.
If an army of men broke into your house and began making demands of you, out of fear, you’d listen to them in hopes of saving your life. But when God, who is more powerful than any army of any Nation, comes to us in order to save us from the penalty of our sins, we ignore him. He calls us to obey his word, laws and commands because in them comes life. To reject his word is to reject his salvation plan through Jesus. This results into destruction upon our souls. This should bring fear to us. Just the thought of that, should cause us to approach God with humility recognizing our fallen state. Who is more loving than our God and who is more powerful? No one!
God forgive me when I reject your word and take delight in worldly pleasures. May I always have a respectful fear of you, and may I always take delight in your word. You are bigger than any god for you are the one and only God.
