Psalms Chapter 139
Find Your Identity In Christ Alone.
Psalms 139 is probably one of my most favorite passages. It defines God as being omnipresent (everywhere) and omniscient (all knowing). He knows and knew all about us even before we came into existence. We were FEARFULLY made by God. Hebrew word means we were made to be treated with Awe, with Reverence, with Respect, and with Honor. Can you imagine how differently our world would be if we treated one another as God created us to be treated.
It also says God created us WONDERFULLY, and as the psalmist says, he knows it full well. He knows he was wonderfully created and he’s not going to let anything destroy that fact. In fact, God declares that he is saying wonderful things about us all the time: more numerous than the grains of sand. If we could but find our identity in Christ, then we wouldn’t be destroyed by the negative words said by those who oppose us. May we always rise above the negative comments or thoughts, and hold on to the truth of who we really are in Christ, and how we are truly perceived by Christ, and spoken of by the Lord God. Be grounded into Christ and not in the negative words or thoughts our enemies throw at us.
