Psalms Chapter 136
God’s Love Endures Forever. Maybe Ours Should Too.
We are instructed to give thanks to the Lord for who he is and for all he has done. 26 times it says, “His love endures forever.” After each act of God mentioned, it says, “His love endures forever.” Which seems to strongly imply that every act of God is actually an act of his love. Actually, it’s impossible for him to do something that’s not an expression of love. Even when he punishes or disciplines his people, it’s an act of love because the discipline of God is to bring us back into a loving relationship with him.
So when things aren’t going well, we can trust God because how he intervenes will be an act of his love because it endures forever.
So we, who are ambassadors for Christ, should allow God’s love to flow through us. Our love should also endure forever, rather than be quick to hate, not forgive, quick to retaliate, or gossip, or whatever else. We should ask ourselves a question: Is God’s love that endures forever being displayed in our lives today to all those around us? You be the judge? Be honest!
