Psalms Chapter 131
Maybe We All Are A Little Prideful.
The psalmist says he’s not proud or haughty. It’s so easy to become prideful or arrogant. I’ve even done it with a righteous attitude. I speak with a humble heart but inwardly I want my name to be recognized. I shared my devotional once with a friend, who in turn shared it with one of his friends. Then his friend shared the devotional with me. The thing is, my friend didn’t know I started the devotional. He commented to me how he received this devotional from “Chris” and thought it was very applicable to our lives. In my heart, I wanted to immediately say, “That’s MY devotional! I wrote that!” Then I stopped myself (rather God stopped me). It was God who inspired the devotional from the start. It was His. So why is it important to give the glory to me? It’s not important to give the glory to the person who shared the devotional but rather who inspired it. So I had to let it go so God got the glory and not me. May that be my heart everyday! Lord help me!
