Psalms Chapter 13
I Don’t Know Where You Are, But I Praise You!
The psalmist is feeling forgotten by the Lord and asked a few questions to God:
How long will I wrestle with my thoughts? How long will I have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy have victory over me?
When he’s all done crying out to God he says these words to the Lord:
I trust in your unfailing love. My heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing praises to you because you are good to me.
This psalm reminds me of a tribe of people who are all starving to death. I don’t remember all the details other than the fact 20 of them were taken in order to guarantee 20 surviving. Those left behind knew their outcome would be death from starvation. But as the 20 we’re leaving, the others sang this song: “God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He’s so good to me.”
CHALLENGE: may we, throughout today, let this song be on our hearts, GOD IS SO GOOD, as a way of saying to God I love and trust you regardless of my circumstances.
