Psalms Chapter 129 and 130
Why Give Up?
The psalmist says that though Israel has been oppressed since their youth, their enemy has not gained victory. The Lord is with them! May we claim and proclaim our victory in Christ! The Bible says we are in a battle not with flesh and blood but with the enemy, the devil and his evil forces. Plus we have a battle with our own flesh. But greater is Christ in us than the devil who is in the world. So why do we give up? Why do we proclaim defeat before the battle has even started? Why are we not steady and confident that Christ brings victory? We need to proclaim and trust God’s Victory is coming.
Psalms 130 is a great example of Israel calling out on God and putting their hope and trust in him to bring that victory. May we be an example of this very thing before the Lord and to others.
