Psalms Chapter 127 and 128

“Whose in Charge Here?”

I like the verses in chapter 127 that says, “Unless the Lord builds the house those who labor will labor in vain.” And, “Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand in vain.” God created each of us for a purpose. So why do we like to be in control? If we aren’t following the Lord in obedience and faithfulness, then we put our will and our plans ahead of his. Why do we do that? Do we think we are better than God? Our life makes sense when we surrender our hearts and our will over to the Lord and allow his Holy Spirit to lead our lives. Otherwise, when we jump in the driver’s seat, our efforts are meaningless. It takes meaning when we put God in control.

Chapter 128 even says, “Blessed are those who fear God and walk in obedience to him.”

It’s when we are obedient that we receive God’s fruit for our labor and he blesses us and gives us prosperity. The Blessings he alludes to is our family and reputation. So put the Lord in charge of your life for he gives meaning to our lives. Fear God! Be obedient to God! See the fruit you bear for the kingdom of God! And receive the blessings he has for us that have eternal value versus just earthly value.
