Psalms Chapter 119:25-176
God’s Word Is All This And More.
The Psalmist says the God’s word gives hope, comfort, strength, salvation, insight, wisdom, understanding, and preserves his life.
The Psalmist also says this according to God’s word:
He sets his heart on it. He holds fast to them. He runs to them. He will follow them and obey them. He will turn his heart to them, find a light and then trust in them. He put his hope the word of God and will speak of them. He loves them. He reaches out to God’s word. He turns his step toward God’s word. He will not forget them. He’ll give thanks for them. God’s word is a heritage, a joy. He stands in all of them. He loves them more than money. He will keep God’s words. He says they last forever. When he trembles at God’s word. He will sing a praise to God because of his words. He will never forsake God’s words. They are eternal. They endure. He will ponder them. They are always a light and lamp to his feet and path.
Even when life is at its worst and lowest moments, he will not turn away from God’s words. He is thankful for times of affliction because it has helped turn him to the Lord and learn his words.
Knowing all that we know about God’s Word, how could we not hunger and thirst and meditate on it daily? May God’s word mean to us what it meant to the psalmist. May we trust God’s word in all circumstances realizing what the word of God gives us.
