Psalms Chapter 118
Give Thanks To The Lord For His Love Endures Forever.
The psalmist says to give thanks to the Lord because his love endures forever and have everyone say his love endures forever. Plus he says, when he is hard-pressed the Lord is with him and he will not be afraid. He proclaims God’s victory! He tells us to trust in the Lord and not people and not in armies. Instead stand in battle in the name of the Lord! For the Lord does mighty things so the psalmist shouts for joy in victory and will tell us all the Lord has done. The psalmist speaks of the one who will come, Jesus, and will be rejected by people yet he will be God’s chosen one who will save us. “Blessed is the one who will come in the name of the Lord.”
May we have the same heart that wants to give thanks to the Lord because his love does endure forever. And in his love he allows us to suffer a while and face opposition, but in his love he also has a plan to make his name known. Therefore let us put our trust in the name of the Lord verses in other people. And in his love, the Lord does mighty things so we can shout for joy in victory and tell others of his mighty works. May we never ever forget his great demonstration of his love when he sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins. Even Jesus faced opposition and he had the victory. Let us give thanks to the Lord for his love truly does endure forever.
