Psalms Chapter 116
Face to Face.
The psalmist declares his love for the Lord because God heard his voice. He said death entangled him. Anguish came over him. He was overcome with stress and sorrow. He was at his lowest point. What could he do? He called on the Lord because he said God is gracious, righteous, and full of compassion. And God did save him from all his turmoil. Then the psalmist gave a thank offering to the Lord in showing his love and appreciation for what God did for him.
I can think of many dark moments of my life when I called on the Lord and in his time he delivered me. It is during these times I am compelled to thank him, and then thank him some more, and even yet more. Why? Because I can never thank him enough.
Lord, help me to never take advantage of what you do for me. Help me to always have a thankful heart towards you!
