Psalms Chapter 114
The Power of God’s Words!
Psalms 114 is a quick flashback of the past of how God established his place of redeeming judah. The examples are given of the power of God’s spoken words. When God spoke, the sea parted as did the Jordan river. Both times when they parted, God’s people crossed over to the other side for a purpose. They fulfilled God’s plan. When God spoke, the mountains quaked and moved. When God spoke, the Earth trembled before him.
The God of Moses and Joshua is still the same God today. But today we are blessed to have his spoken word written for us to read in the Bible. And his word still has power to do miracles today. You see endless of that through the testimonies of God’s people. How God transformed lives and set people free from addictions. He heals sickness and restores broken relationships. He sats people free who are bound by sin. We give thanks to God through Jesus Christ for giving us a new and changed life. Just as God’s word caused the Earth to tremble before him, God’s word can cause people to tremble today as they recognize their need to repent from sin and turn to Christ for salvation and for the Forgiveness of sins.
May we be a representation of God’s spoken word to a hurting and dying world.
