Psalms Chapter 112
Take Delight!
Verse 1 says, “Blessed are those who fear God and who take delight in obeying God’s Word.” Taking the light in God’s word can be difficult to want to do. I understand, it’s difficult to always be obedient to God’s word, but I’m talking about those who purposely fight even wanting to do it because 1. They don’t like being told what to do! Or 2. They feel that Christianity is just a bunch of rules or do’s and don’ts.
The one who takes delight in God’s word understands that God’s word is a love letter and his commands are focused on protecting us from harm. Once you violate God’s word, someone is going to get hurt, including ourselves. Humbling consequences come to those who choose to violate God’s command.
God help us see your word as a love letter rather than as a curse.
