Psalms Chapter 110
Do I Take Delight In Knowing You’ll Get What You Deserve?
This chapter is all about the coming Lord and King, Jesus. And when he comes, God will make his enemies a footstool for the feet of Jesus. He will rule over all and will crush Kings and leaders on the day of his wrath.
In all reality, Jesus doesn’t wish that any perish in hell but that all repent of their sins and find faith in Jesus. Yet there’s so much corruption amongst the rulers of our world. God warns them (and warns us as well) over and over again when we turn our hearts away from Him. If we take heed to these warnings, then we can experience an eternal relationship with Jesus. But if we reject his warning then we face His coming wrath.
To be honest, at times I struggle with this because when I see corruption I’ll find comfort in knowing that people will get what they deserve on judgment day. But my prayer is that God would give me his love and compassion so that my heart breaks for the lost so that I am drawn into a deeper prayer life for the lost. So instead of taking delight in what they have coming, I want to pray more that they will repent of their sins and turn to Jesus. God help me!
