Psalms Chapter 102
God, You Will Respond.
The psalmist cries out to God in anguish. Read what he has to say:
“Hear my prayer Lord; Let My cry for help come to you. Come quickly. I don’t eat. I cry many tears. I cried to you God for you are king of all nations. You reign forever. YOU WILL RESPOND to the cries of your people.”
The psalmist is broken and afflicted and greatly hurting. God seems far away, yet, in amongst his tears the psalmist says words of faith we all need to say in our prayers of distress. He says, “YOU WILL RESPOND.” Do you believe that? Perhaps he has already been responding and you aren’t listening because his response differs from what you wanted. Perhaps it’s a test of your faith during this period of waiting. I’m reminded how God is not bound by time at all! “Waiting” is a great opportunity for us to set before the Lord in prayer and reading of the Scriptures. Waiting is an opportunity to draw closer to Jesus and grow spiritually and grow in our faith. Waiting is not a waste of time but an opportunity. As you wait on the Lord, are you drawing closer to him in prayer, reading of the Scriptures, and fellowshipping with other Christians? Or is it spent on selfish fulfillment?
Are you waiting? May your words be, as the psalmist, “God, You Will Respond.” Then draw near to Him!!!
