Psalms Chapter 101
Lead a Blameless Life. As a Christian, I Will….
The psalmist says he will sing of the Lord’s love and justice, then says he will be careful to lead a blameless life.
He says the following things:
He will conduct the affairs of his house with a blameless heart. He’ll keep his eyes from any vile or evil thing. He will not tolerate those who are prideful or slander others. It’s the blameless he will surround himself with.
The psalmist is making these vows like a newborn Christian would make. In fact everything he says you could add the words, “As a follower of Christ I will….” Let’s try that!
1. As a follower of Christ I will sing of the Lord’s love and justice.
2. As a follower of Christ I will be careful to lead a blameless life.
3. As a follower of Christ I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart. [How’s that going?]
4. As a follower of Christ I will keep my eyes from anything vile or evil. [Is there anything vile in your life? On TV. Pornography. Music. YouTube. Books. Etc.]
5. As a follower of Christ I will not tolerate a prideful person or anyone who speaks evil of another. [I hope I’m not doing that.]
6. As a follower of Christ I will surround myself with Godly and blameless people because the Scripture says “Bad company corrupts good morals.” In other words, the people you surround yourself with are who you become like. Who are you surrounding yourself with? Seriously!
