Psalms Chapter 10
I Wouldn’t Change A Thing.
The psalmist feels God is far off hiding somewhere and complains about how the wicked prey on the weak and boast of evil. They are arrogant and feel they can get away with anything without consequences. The psalmist ends with these words: “The Lord is king forever and ever; the Nations will perish from his land.”
On a larger scale, today we have terrorists groups who are rioting, burning cities, looting stores, attacking people and cops. They have been arrogant and feel no consequences for their behavior.
But such arrogance exists on a smaller scale: in school, I was bullied. I felt I had only a few friends and that God was far from me. But actually, he was very near and going through it all with me. He helped me become a better and stronger person. I became a man with compassion and love for the weak and misfortune. If I had the power to undo what I went through, would I? NO! I wouldn’t be who I was today if I hadn’t. I didn’t like it, God allowed it, and God used it to make me who I am today.
I pray for the bullies and terrorists because unless they repent and turn to Christ they will face terrible consequences, if not on Earth then when they stand before God on judgment Day and face an eternal consequence. They will perish in hell.
Thank you Lord for always being with me through even the most difficult situations and using it to make me more like Christ. Amen!
