Proverbs Chapter 30
Maybe I’m Not As Smart As I Thought I Was/Am.
This chapter is written by Agur. He starts off by admitting his knowledge and wisdom is very limited in regards to life in general and in regards to the holy and mighty God. But he has gained enough wisdom to understand there’s no one greater than God and no words greater than his Truth.
He asked God for two things:
1. Keep falsehood and lies from his lips.
2. He doesn’t want to be poor or rich. He wants just enough to meet his daily needs. He’s afraid if he’s too rich that he’ll disown the Lord. But if he has too little, he’ll dishonor the Lord by stealing.
Dear Lord, I’ve known you as my Savior for a long long time. I’ve read and studied the Scriptures for many years, but help me realize there is so much I still don’t know. Plus there’s so much of your truth that I have not put into daily practice. Keep me humble. Keep Me reliant and focused always on you and your Truth and never let the truth of this world take precedent over your Truth.
I Need You, Lord! Amen!
