Proverbs Chapter 26
Don’t Be A Fool!
1. Don’t respond to a fool according to how they speak to you because you will become just like them. 2. If you do, it will make them feel wise in their own eyes. When you resort to their level it only makes them feel in control. Fools are often irrational and become very loud and abusive with their words, and can become physical very quickly. Rather than get into a battle with words it is best to be silent and walk away.
3. It also says that trusting a fool with responsibility is a terrible decision. And if you hire a fool, don’t expect much from them for you won’t get much.
4. Just like a dog returns to eat its vomit, so a fool repeats their foolish ways.
Sadly, it’s difficult to reason with a fool for they feel they are wise in their own eyes. It’s difficult to change their thought process. And until they do, they are dangerous, for they have no respect for others. Again, it is best not to engage in their foolish talk.
