Proverbs Chapter 2
IF, Then Statements
The psalmist makes a lot of IF THEN statements.
If you accept God’s words, if you store up God’s commands, if you turn your ears to wisdom, if you apply your heart to understanding, if you call out for insight, if you cry aloud for understanding, if you look for it as you would silver or treasures, then you will understand the fear of the lord, then you will find knowledge, then you will understand about what is right, just, and fair.
Look at the IF statements and see how proactive they are. If one is proactive when seeking God’s truth, then what comes with that is a hunger and passion for the things of the Lord.
CHALLENGE: Study the IF statements and see how proactive they are then check your heart and see if you are proactive with an expression of hunger and thirst for God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. To be less than proactive is to have one’s attention on ungodly things that don’t result in life but destruction.
