Proverbs Chapter 19
Decisions Decisions Decisions!
Verse 2 and 19 are about decisions which we must make all the time. Verse 2 says, “Do not be hasty or you’ll miss the way.” Making quick decisions often leads to regret. I find peace in praying and thinking about opportunities that are presented to me. It’s when I make hasty decisions, that I have regrets. Please take time to think through and pray before making decisions, even if it means waiting a few extra days.
Verse 19 says, “People ruin their lives with the foolish things they do, and then they blame the Lord for it.” God seems to become a great scapegoat for us. If we make a bad decision that hurts us, we love to blame the Lord rather than take responsibility for our own decisions. We would be wise to surround ourselves with godly people and with God’s Word so that it becomes a lamp until our feet and a light unto our path (Psalms 119:105).
Pray for God’s direction and strength so you don’t make decisions based on your flesh desires but rather on what God’s Spirit desires.
