Proverbs Chapter 17
The Lord Detests Them Both.
Verse 15 says, “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent – the Lord detests them both.”
We live in a world today that is different from any time in my life that I can remember. I never remember there being so much corruption like I see today.
There’s a great corruption in our political world and our government. Big cities with protesters looting and destroying businesses with little or no consequences. People who are guilty are being protected while people who are innocent are being convicted of crimes they did not commit. Our justice system is failing us. Good is called evil and evil is being called good. It’s so backwards that it’s hard to believe people can’t see it.
It reminds me of the message of the Cross of Jesus. He was innocent and yet he was convicted of crimes made by false testimonies. All this while the “religious” leaders were living in hypocrisy. The “religious” leaders, in their jealousy and hatredness, plotted to kill Jesus with lies. Think about it: “religious” leaders giving the devil a foothold in their hearts so that jealousy and hatredness overtakes them so that they take part in a plan to kill the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
1 Corinthians 1:18 says, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved, it is the power of God.”
Lord, help me not to be a fool and make false conclusions about who Jesus really is. Lord, help me to stand firm on your word so that I never preach a false doctrine about who Jesus really is, and about what is really good and what is really evil. Amen.
