Philippians Chapter 3

Rejoice. Be Devoted. Press On.

Paul encourages the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord! That their desire for Christ should be greater than any desire we could ever have on this earth. Paul reminds them that salvation is not found by trying to be good enough but by faith in Christ alone. And Paul’s love for Christ and for preaching Christ is so great that he continues to be willing to give up any and everything for the sake of Christ. He wants to know the power of His resurrection. To participate in the sufferings of Christ. To be raised from a life of death to a resurrection of life in heaven forever.
Therefore, Paul daily presses on to these goals and he is so focused on pressing forward that he states again that he’s willing to give up every and anything on the way.
Paul challenges us to also press forward to Christ, and as we do, to have this confidence in Jesus to transform our lowly bodies to a new glorious body like Jesus.

Lord, help me desire you so much that I’m willing to give up any and everything for the sake of Christ. Help me press hard to attain all you have for me so I can live a life that is transformed, and so I can impact other lives so they are also transformed in Christ for your glory.
