Numbers Chapter 22
Be Careful Of What Entices You!
Deep inside we know how we are to live out our Christian faith. But sometimes we can be enticed by the world in such a way that we end up compromising our faith walk for an element of temporary pleasures of the world. Balaam was enticed by the gifts offered to him if he went before the King of Moab and cursed God’s people so the king could defeat the Israelites.
God wanted him to go and speak what was told to him, but Balaam was looking forward to the temporary rewards he would get verses being obedient to the Lord.
What compromises do we make in order to enjoy a temporary pleasure thus losing focus of the eternal rewards that await us in heaven?
1. ACCEPTANCE by a group of people?
2. MONEY?
3. POWER and CONTROL?
OR
4. SOMETHING ELSE?
These things, in and of themselves, aren’t evil but if we lose focus of the Lord because of them, then we have done evil. Let’s recognize our mistakes and what really entices us, and then turn back to the Lord 100%.
