Numbers Chapter 20
Trust and Obey.
Once again the Israelites began to complain to Moses and Aaron and God. They are without water and instead of trusting God they complain.
Moses and Aaron fall before the Lord and God speaks to them to go to the Rock and they were instructed to speak to the Rock to yield water and God would provide.
And instead of trusting God that he would provide with just their mere words, Moses and Aaron strike the rock twice with the rod. This angered the Lord and He said because of their disobedience and lack of faith they would not be the ones leading the People into the Promised Land.
This shows how easy it is for any Christian, regardless of their status, to lack of faith, and in their disobedience sin against God.
I could tell stories of my disobedience before the Lord. Sometimes I realize it immediately by the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart, but there are times when I am disobedient and because nobody knows, I continue in my disobedience. Then God, out of love, let’s me be confronted by an individual or my spouse and be humbled and broken before God.
God help me trust you in all things. Help me trust you that you will provide and meet our needs. Help me to keep trusting you that you will use me to impact lives for the kingdom. Thank you that you love us. Thank you for your forgiveness of sins.
