Nehemiah Chapter 5
I Hate to Confront Evil!
The Jewish people were crying out because their own Jewish leaders were having them pay a tax they should not have been paying. As a result, the Jewish people were mortgaging their homes, their fields, and their possessions in order to pay the godless tax.
When Nehemiah heard what the leadership was doing to the people, he ordered that they return everything back to the people and quit charging the godless tax.
The leaders made a promise to do as Nehemiah commanded and made an oath before the Lord.
There are times in Ministry that a person loses focus of what God is wanting to do and end up focusing on their flesh desires versus God’s desires. That’s when someone has to lovingly step forward and lovingly confront the evil and stop it.
It is best to confront a person one-on-one. If that doesn’t work, take 1 or 2 people with you and confront the evil again. If that doesn’t work, then take it to the leadership team of the ministry and confront the individual. If that doesn’t work then the person must be removed from the ministry.
The evil must be removed from the ministry so the ministry can move forward in the Lord producing fruit versus allowing the evil to continue causing the ministry to die and destroy lives.
I recommend using Matthew 18:15-17 as your guide in confronting evil within a ministry.
