Nehemiah Chapter 12

And Their Rejoicing Was Heard From Afar!

More and more people who were in exile in Babylon, were returning to Jerusalem. They gathered together in singing, playing instruments, making sacrifices to the Lord, and rejoicing loudly. In fact it says that they’re “rejoicing was heard from afar.” I’m visualizing this like a football stadium with people screaming and yelling with excitement. I’m imagining that the people who heard their cries of joy are now talking amongst each other about what’s going on. I’m imagining people sharing with even more people about how the Israelites were rejoicing so much in their God.

As I serve the Lord and join with the body of Christ, I want the ministry we do to be done with great joy and passion so that lives are impacted for the Lord. I want the blessings that God brings to be heard about from afar. I want to hear rumors of people talking about what God is doing amongst our body of believers.

We started the weekly interfaith Club, called Student IMPACT, in the Junior Senior High School in Union City. On the 2nd week we had almost 70 students who came to this Faith Club. Already staff in the school were talking about this. One day as we prayed, a teacher walked through our room and stopped and bowed in prayer with us. Both principles are excited to see what we are doing and want very much for us to impact the school. A lady who works in the office asked me if her son was allowed to attend this club. One staff stopped us to share how excited they are that someone they have been praying for came to the Student IMPACT Club.

Are people talking about you, from afar, and your life because of how set apart you are from this world and they want what you have, Jesus?
