Nehemiah Chapter 10
I Am Making An Agreement With The Lord.
After the Israelites spent hours before the Lord in brokenness, reading of his Word, worshiping, and reflecting on God’s goodness, they all made an agreement with the Lord that they would:
1. Follow His Word,
2. Teach their family to do the same.
3. Trust God to meet their needs. And
4. Tithe to the Lord, but not just with their money but with their possessions in order to help others in need.
We all need to make an agreement with the Lord to follow him in all aspects of our lives. That doesn’t mean it’s easy because sometimes we enjoy sin and don’t want to give it up.
But I don’t want to NOT make a oath and be held in bondage in an area of sin or weakness. Inside, I truly want to be all that I can be for the Lord. So in some areas, I have to Daily Surrender to the Lord for his help. This means I’m not giving up! I want to be holy before God and I want to be used for his glory even if it means making sacrifices with my money, my possessions, or my time. Even if it means altering my lifestyle so I can come into obedience to his word. Lord, I surrender my heart, my soul, my money, my possession, my time, my will for all you have for me and for all you wish to do through me and my family. I love you!
