Leviticus Chapter 27
Lord I Dedicate My Life To You.
The Israelites were commanded to give holy offerings to the Lord. But if any of them wanted to go above and beyond with what was required, then they could dedicate a person to the Lord, or their house, or even some of their land. Along with the dedication came a certain determined amount of monetary giving.
Today, God wishes for us to dedicate our whole lives to him along with all that he has given to us (i.e. our homes, our property, our money, or material blessings, etc.).
Dedicating something to the Lord is our way of saying to the Lord, “Use this for your glory!”
For Example:
For me, my house is used for God’s glory because I make it a Safe Haven Place for my wife or for my family. Karin works hard all day at school and with her parents. When she comes home I want her to feel that our home is a place for resting and rejuvenating.
Others use their homes for God’s glory by inviting family or friends over often. It’s a place of fellowship and entertainment.
When it comes to my life and possessions my prayer is often, “Lord, I’ll go wherever you want me to go. I’ll be whatever you want me to be. I’ll do whatever you want me to do. I’ll use whatever you want me to use, for your Glory!”
May that be your prayer as well.
