Leviticus Chapter 2
I’m Willing To Give Up Everything For The Lord.
Details are given on making a grain offering to the Lord. Grain was a staple food for the Israelites. It was a very common and valuable food source. They were willing to sacrifice a valuable food source versus offering up the food they didn’t like.
I guess in today’s terms it would be like me offering up a good steak versus brussel sprouts. I could offer up brussel sprouts all day because I don’t like it but it would be hard to offer a good steak or a bunch of shrimp. But God wants our best not our junk stuff.
Am I willing to give up any and everything for the Lord? Including my time? Money? Possessions? Relationships? What is it that I have that seems more important to me than my relationship with Christ? Paul said in Philippians 3:7-11 that he counts all things in life as garbage compared to knowing Christ, knowing his righteousness, and knowing the power of His resurrection.
May we also be willing to give up all things for Christ so that we may know him more and serve him to the fullest.
