Leviticus Chapter 19
Mediums and Spiritists are not from God.
God commands his people not to turn to mediums and spiritists. The Hebrew word for these terms define them as those who turn to the Dead for comfort, advice, or prediction of the future. God says in Deuteronomy that it’s an abomination meaning a HORRIBLE act.
It’s hard to convince those who rely on mediums and spiritus that it’s evil because they often find comfort in it. It becomes a coping mechanism to help deal with the loss of a loved one. But it’s deceiving and deceptive.
Some may ask what is the harm if it makes a person feel better?
From an EMOTIONAL standpoint it is deceptive. Pay me $100 and I’ll say nice things about the deceased. Emotionally it takes one’s focus off from the true comforter, God Almighty. Once you get a person to take their focus off of God than you plant a seed to help them rely on other things.
From a SPIRITUAL standpoint, you’re dealing with evil spiritual forces whose goal is to deceive, misdirect, point you away from God, destroy, and kill. God’s desire is to give life and once you start turning to mediums and spiritists, you open the door of your heart to the evil forces of this world. They can influence your decisions in ungodly ways and once addicted to it, you give power to the evil spirits in your life. Nothing good can come from that. It can turn your attention stronger away from God and onto tactics of the devil, evil forces. Anything done apart from God is sin. Why play with sin and put you and others at risk spiritually and emotionally.
