Leviticus Chapter 15
What Are You Hiding?
In this chapter God deals with different discharges that come from a male or female body. Such discharges could be an infection, or semen, or blood, including a menstrual cycle.
Each of these made the person unclean and anyone they came in contact with was also declared unclean and both were in need of an atonement.
God declared:
1) He didn’t want anyone entering his Tabernacle while unclean.
2) The people were to separate themselves from anyone unclean so that they themselves would not become unclean. However, it was easy for people to hide their discharge so no one would know.
Which brings two questions to my mind:
1) When we go before the Lord in our prayer time or even during Sunday church, are we hiding a certain sin? Do we put on a spiritual face and behaviors so as to give the impression we are faithfully walking with the Lord, but we are not. If that’s the case, confess and repent of the sin and get right with God. Tell someone who can help you if necessary.
2) Perhaps we need to separate ourselves from certain environments so we aren’t being contaminated by sin or so we aren’t contaminating others because of our sin. Separation is an opportunity to focus on the Lord and get right with Him.
