How Does Your Environment Affect Your Spiritual Walk?
Yesterday I compared how leprosy is like sin. Also how there is hope for a cure for both.
Today, this chapter discusses the cleansing process in more detail.
1) A leper must admit they are unclean by saying, “Unclean Unclean!”
A sinner must confess their sins by admitting, “I am a sinner.”
2) A leper must isolate themselves from people so as not to contaminate anyone else.
A sinner must turn themselves away from their sin problem, called repentance. They must also isolate themselves from those who have influenced them to sin so they can get right with God through Jesus and the help of the Holy Spirit.
3) Leprosy can also be found in one’s home or living environment. Even the home needs to be cleansed or destroyed.
A sinner must ensure that they’re living environment is without temptations. If we hang out with sinners, we become like them. If that happens we must change where we hang out and with whom we hang out with so that we’re not constantly being tempted.
Once a sinner becomes established in their faith then they can begin to minister to their lost friends. This is best done with the help and accountability of another spiritual brother or sister in the Lord.
