Judges Chapter 5
I Can’t Thank Him Enough
Chapter 5 is a song of celebration for God’s delivery mentioned in chapter 4 when Deborah, Balak, and Israel won their battle against their enemy. The whole chapter is a song of reflection, praise, and celebration. How much effort do we put into praising and thanking God when he does a work in and through our lives? I’m working at trying not to take for granted any good thing in my life. For example:
1. If I can run or exercise I praise and thank God because it could easily come to an end.
2. When I speak or preach I pray earnestly beforehand for God to use me and be glorified. When I’m done, I praise him over and over and over again for his power and His glory.
3. I recently did a wedding on Sunday and had people praying that God would use me to promote him through this wedding ceremony. People were very complimentary. The one parent of the Bride said, “You were definitely the man God wanted to do this ceremony.” Later, when I was alone, I sang songs of Thanksgiving to God and praised and thanked him over and over again.
I know that apart from Christ I can do nothing (John 15:5-6) so thank you Lord for all you do for me, in me and through me. I can’t thank you enough!
