Judges Chapter 3
Do You Pass Or Fail The Test?
Once again a spiritual leader is lacking in Israel and God tests them to see if they would be faithful and obey his Word and Commandments. But they fail the test. Instead, they surround themselves with non-believers and even married those who reject the living God. As a result, they end up following false gods so God handed them over to their enemies.
What about us? God will test us and see if we will be faithful to him. God’s word says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be bound together with unbelievers for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness or what fellowship has light with darkness? “It’s a dangerous decision to surround oneself with those who aren’t following the Lord nor should we date those who aren’t serving him as well. Their influence will bring us down spiritually. May we all be faithful to the Lord and all pass the test by not letting ourselves get sucked into relationships that influence our walk away from the lord.
CHALLENGE: Step back and ask yourselves:
1. Are my friends a positive spiritual influence or negative.
2. Is the person I wish to date a positive or negative influence in my life?
If you answered “negative” on either of these questions then do something about it. Turn to God for help so you can be established amongst friends who are positive spiritual influences.
