Yes, I Know, Jesus Is Your Savior. But Is He Your Lord?
Silver became so attractive to Micah that he stole 1,100 pieces of silver from his mother and later gave it back to her while confessing his wrong doing. The mother was so pleased he returned it that she dedicated it to the Lord, which is great, but then she had anp idol or false god made out of some of the silver. Micah and his mother both talked about the Lord but were not hesitant to have idols in their home.
Both of them had an understanding of who the Lord was but they lived in a culture that worshiped idols also.
It’s not much different today, because we live in a world where people know Jesus. They profess him, they have accepted him as their Savior, they go to church, but there are things of the world they are involved with that have opposed God and become their idol. They’ve made Jesus their Savior but not Lord of their lives.
For Micah, silver and idols hindered his walk with God.
For me, I have to be careful of YouTube and sports to ensure it doesn’t consume my time and affect my life with the Lord.
What do you have to be careful of? Yes, you profess Christ as your Savior, but he also wants to be your Lord. Is he your Lord or are you letting things of this world compete with God and have become your god?
