Judges Chapter 14
God, Please Use Me Despite My Imperfections.
The next few chapters are all about Samson and how God used him to destroy many of the Philistines who were ruling over Israel. He is spoiled by his parents and arrogant. He has a sense of entitlement that whatever he wants he should get. Despite his weaknesses God uses him and God’s Spirit is upon Samson to give him great strength. Samson ends up marrying a Philistine woman which typically is wrong but God wills it because it’s an open door for being able to destroy many Philistines.
God had a purpose for Samson and he uses him to fulfill his purpose despite Samson’s imperfections.
Let this be a reminder to us that when we give our lives to the Lord we are a work in progress. He doesn’t wait till we’re perfect before he uses us. If our heart is willing to be used, he will use us despite our imperfections. May we continue to be willing to be used by God while letting him conform us more and more into the image of Christ.
