JudgDon’t Worry About Your Future.
Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord and therefore gave them into the hands of the Philistines for 40 years.
An angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife and said to her that even though she has been barren, he would give her a son who would save the people from the Philistines.
She was told not to eat anything unclean and not to drink wine or any strong drink.
Her husband, Manoah, askef God to appear to them again so God sent his angel to both of them. Manoah asks what their future son’s mode of life will be and his vocation?
The angel of the Lord responded, I already told the woman what needed to be done: she is not to eat anything unclean and not drink any wine or strong drink.
This reminds me of Jesus’s response in Matthew 6 when the people are all worrying about their future. Jesus says to not worry but focus on these two things:
1. Seek first the things that have to do with the kingdom of God, and
2. Seek the righteousness of God.
And if we do these two things then God will take care of our future needs.
Are you seeking Kingdom things or earthly things?
Are you seeking his righteousness or are you still trying to fulfill your flesh desires? Seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness and he’ll take care of your future needs.
