God’s Wanting A Restored Love Relationship That’s Real!
I can’t help but wonder if sometimes, God, out of love for us, let’s us suffer consequences for poor decisions we have made so that we experience a certain amount of pain, or uncomfortableness, or shame so that it acts as a deterrent to not do it again.
The Israelites once again did evil before God so God allowed them to be oppressed by their enemies. They cried out to God but he said he wasn’t going to deliver them because they keep doing evil and serving other gods. This caused them to confess their sins and get rid of their false gods. In essence, their pain drove them to get back into a restored love relationship with the Almighty God. So finally, God said he would deliver them.
Pain doesn’t mean God hates us. He loves us and wants a love relationship that is real! So pain is to deter the sin so that we are restored into the love relationship he wants. Pain is not to deter his love for us, but could be for the purpose of restoration.
So if you’re suffering pain, perhaps God is just wanting you to trust him and persevere through the pain or perhaps he’s wanting for us to confess our sins and repent and get back into a restored love relationship with him.
