What Have We Yielded Our Lives To?
Jude also has one chapter.
Jude addresses an issue of unholiness amongst the church. Yes, I said it, amongst the church. The church was living in sin because they were more concerned about their feelings and making choices that fed into their feelings, than living a holy life. Jude was challenging them not to live by their feelings but by the Holy Spirit.
To live by the Holy Spirit is to live in the glory, majesty, power, and authority of God himself! Thus resulting into striving for a godly life.
Look at our church today. We have wandered so far from God’s truth and think nothing of it. We have lost the fear of God and his coming wrath and have refused to repent and turn from sin. Look at our Christians today: sexual sins have just become an acceptable way of life because everybody’s doing it. Sex before marriage is just an old fashion phrase. And today, if you believe God’s word that marriage is to be between a man and woman only, is to be considered homophobic, racist, evil, haters, etc etc etc. You are ripped apart even if you present this truth with great love and mercy.
Jude confronts the church for polluting God’s grace by saying, “God won’t care if we live in sin”, thus forgetting about all the people in the Old Testament who faced God’s wrath because they did not persevere in God’s Truth.
Let God speak to you today. Is your life full of God’s power and godliness or is your life just full of yourself and ungodliness? Don’t wait till judgment day to get right with God! At that point, it’s too late!
