John Chapter 11. I hate waiting for answered prayers!
1. Jesus’s Delay Of Love.
Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. When Lazarus was very sick they sent word to Jesus to come to Lazarus because they believed he could heal him. When Jesus heard the news he stayed an extra two days before traveling to see Lazarus.
Jesus’s delay was actually motivated by love because he knew God would be glorified through the resurrection of Lazarus’s dead body. But his delay was seen by the people as if he didn’t care. Perhaps that’s how we feel when we pray for something and there seems to be a delay. Perhaps we should trust God during those times of delay knowing he really loves us and wants to bring glory to his father through our delayed circumstances.
2. Jesus’s Tears of Love.
When Jesus saw Mary and the Jews weeping out of love for Lazarus, Jesus also wept out of love.
Jesus cares for us!! May we remember that in our darkest moments.
3. Jesus makes a dead person alive.
When Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead, he let it be known that he is the resurrection and the life and if anyone believes in him, though one may die physically, one will live forever spiritually. Jesus takes a person dead in sin and they become alive in Christ. Let that be what drives us into Ministry! May we want to see people become alive in Christ. May that be more important than life on Earth itself.
