Job Chapter 6
Don’t Hand The Devil The Keys Of Your Heart And Soul.
Job speaks of his misery and how great it is. His request to God is that he would just take his life and relieve him of his misery and pain. He is out of strength and losing hope and patience. Plus he is frustrated with his friend Eliphaz because he keeps insisting that Job has sin in his life. Rather than being a comfort and encourager he makes accusations.
When we go through tough times it’s easy to become disconnected from God. Sometimes we become our worst enemy because we listen to the lies of the devil that says God is Not Just or Not Fair. We begin to separate ourselves from God’s word, from prayer, from fellowship with other believers. Then we begin to lose hope and patience with God and see no way of things getting better. Once that happens, we hand the keys of our heart and soul to the devil. We actually begin to believe the lies he tells us about ourselves and about God. There is one truth and it is found in the Lord God. The devil will do all he can to distract or discredit this truth. He wants us to believe things about God and ourselves that aren’t true.
Who has the key to your heart and soul? If it’s the Lord then you’ll be a person of integrity and with hope for the present and for the future. If it’s the devil, then begin to watch yourself isolate from the Lord God. Begin to watch yourself believe things that aren’t true about you and God.
Let today be the day we rebuke the devil from our minds and heart and allow the Lord’s spirit fill us with his Truth, Hope and Love.
