Job Chapter 42
Well done!
Job apologizes to God when he argued with him regarding things he did not understand and was beyond his understanding. Then God rebuked the three counselors for not speaking truth.
Afterwards, God restored Job’s life and blessed him more in his later life than in his former life.
Job had suffered for a long time with boils all over his body. He was in so much pain. There’s no way of telling how long it lasted but some suggested perhaps two years.
Job acknowledged his inability to truly understand God’s ways and repented. May we do the same. I don’t know why things happen to me or my friends. But, like Job, I must acknowledge that I can’t speak of things that are beyond my understanding. But I know there is a blessing that awaits us. What that blessing is, comes from God. It may not be at all what I had anticipated, but it will be a blessing that brings joy to me and glory to God. It will bring a peace in my heart, but the ultimate reward will be when I stand before God in heaven. No joy can outdo the joy of being in the Lord’s presence. And no pain on Earth can break me from wanting to persevere with the Lord. The joy of persevering will out do any pain I am having to bare. Lord, may I be found faithful. May I hear your words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
