Job Chapter 40
I Am Not Worthy.
After God has questioned Job over a period of time,
Job begins feeling guilty for complaining to God. God says to Job, do you wish to correct me in my decision? Job responds with guilt: I already opened my mouth I will be quiet now for I am unworthy.
Sadly, I have questioned God more than once even over the same issue. I have accused him of being unfair and wondered where he was? I have gone as far as condemn him while trying to make my misfortune sound unfair versus trusting God’s plan. Job reached the point of saying, I am unworthy! Plus he was repentive for accusing God of not being fair. It was a humbling moment for Job.
Have we reached that point yet? Have we come to the understanding that God is just? He knows what he is doing! We recognize that we are unworthy before God! Are we humble before God or are we arrogant? Do we insist that our ways are right and he’s in the wrong? Do we insist that he should listen to us versus us trusting him in and through our circumstances?
Lord, help me count my blessings. Help me to see my unworthiness while at the same time recognizing that you do love me and are in control and I can trust you.
