Job Chapter 38
Who’s Really In Control? You Or God?
The Lord speaks to Job and asks him a bunch of questions. Where were you when I laid the Earth foundation? Who laid its cornerstone? Have you ever given orders to the morning? Can you bring forth the stars and it’s constellations? Can you lead a bear with its cubs? Do lightning bolts report to you? Then he asks a rhetoric question, tell me if you know all this?
God asks the questions in order to establish who is God. And once that is established then who are we to question him? As I said before, to question God is to elevate ourselves while attempting to bring him down. To question God is to question his great love and his plans. We’re really questioning his ability to be in control. Our questions attempt to bring God off his throne so we can take over and have control. Honestly, I’ve never had good success when I tried to be in control.
Ultimately, the question is, are you willing to trust God regardless of your circumstances? Are you willing to praise him during the storms of your life because praises exalt him on the throne of control while questioning and complaining tries to bring him down from the throne of control.

Take time to thank and praise God for being in control and acknowledge your trust in him regardless of your life circumstances.
