Job Chapter 21
Life Isn’t Fair Especially When Evil People Prosper.
Job’s friends are relentless in stating he suffers because he’s in sin. Job then gives several examples how God has allowed wicked people to prosper and to even go to the grave happy while denying God the whole time.
In the Book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon makes the comment that God causes the rain, the misfortunes of life, to fall on the righteous and the wicked just as he lets the Sun, the blessings of life, shine on the righteous and the wicked.
The misfortunes of life will either draw a person closer to the Lord or push them away. The same with the blessings of life. Some will draw closer to the Lord in appreciation of His blessings or it will push them further away while taking credit for their own prosperity.
Solomon’s closing words in Ecclesiastes were: We are all to fear God and obey his commands. Because God will bring every deed into judgment including every hidden thing whether it is good or evil.
This life is temporary. We await the days of eternity. As we face both Good and Evil, may we always fear God and keep his word. May we be faithful in the name of Jesus.
